About

The Mercedes-Benz service schedule is composed of Mercedes-Benz Service A* and Mercedes-Benz Service B*, two comprehensive checklists which cover just about everything your vehicle needs to continue to perform at its best. You’ll alternate between them, scheduling service once every 10,000 miles, or roughly once per year. With this out of the way, you already know most of what there is to know about the Mercedes-Benz service schedule. Get the details on both appointments and learn about your vehicle’s ASSYST PLUS maintenance computer by reading on.
Mercedes-Benz Service A* is likely to be the first appointment you make at our service center near Phoenix. This initial visit will cover each of the following:
If your first Service A appointment arrives at the 10,000-mile marker, reaching 20,000 miles means that it’s time to schedule Mercedes-Benz Service B*. As you’ll see from the list below, Service B covers everything that Service A covers, and then some:
What does the Mercedes-Benz service schedule look like after 20,000 miles? Although you might occasionally see another letter appear on your dashboard, the general contours of your maintenance visits will never change. You’ll schedule Service A at 30,000 miles, 50,000 miles, 70,000 miles, and so on. Plan on scheduling Service B at 40,000 miles, 60,000 miles, and 80,000 miles, and continue in this way until the vehicle is retired.
Although there’s nothing wrong with keeping a manual record of your Mercedes-Benz service schedule, you don’t have to go it alone. Every new Mercedes-Benz vehicle manufactured during and after model-year 2006 has been equipped with the Active Service System (ASSYST), or ASSYST Plus. The appearance of one wrench on your dashboard means that it’s time to schedule Service A. Two wrenches is the symbol for Service B. This automated service computer tracks key metrics, like your remaining oil life, and lets you know when it’s time to schedule service. By accounting for other factors, including your driving habits and conditions, ASSYST represents a major advance over the guesswork that many drivers still rely on.
